Jerry has BProc and LLB degrees from the University of the Western Cape and was admitted as an attorney in 1998. Jerry’s practice is centred largely on advising corporate and public sector clients on various aspects of employment law, inter alia, collective bargaining, strikes, reviews, rescissions, restructuring, unfair dismissals, industrial relations, litigation in private arbitrations, the CCMA, the Bargaining Councils, the Labour Court and the Labour Appeal Court.
Jerry is a trustee on three of the Ponahalo De Beers Trusts, formed following a BEE transaction between De Beers and Ponahalo Capital. Jerry is a non-executive director of Ponahalo Capital, Ponahalo Holdings and Ponahalo Investments.
Jerry is a member of South African Society for Labour Law (SASLAW) and was an executive committee member of SASLAW, Gauteng Chapter (2002-2008). Jerry served as Deputy President of SASLAW, Gauteng Chapter (2003-2004).
