Miles Carter joined Bowman Gilfillan in 1981 and was appointed as a partner in 1988. He has built a thriving litigation practice advising clients on banking and insurance issues, general commercial litigation and corporate recovery. He has acted for one of the major commercial banks in South Africa for several years and has represented a number of insurance companies and medical schemes as well as some of the largest medical negligence indemnification organisations in the country. Over the years, Miles has acted as a Small Claims Court Commissioner and served a term as the Chairman of the Johannesburg Attorneys Association. Presently he sits on the Law Society’s Disciplinary Committee.
