Acted for The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited in respect of  a Structured Loan Facility Agreement with Bridge Shipping (Proprietary) Limited which specifically provides for the procurement of Chrome Ore and Manganese (including their derivative products) for the on sale to various offshore entities.

  2. Acted for Barclays Botswana, First National Bank and Stanbic Botswana in respect of the Pula 1,2 billion financing of the Morupule Expansion Project - a Coal Mine expansion project to supply Coal to the new Morupule B Power Station in Botswana.

  3. Acted for the Standard Bank of South Africa Limited in respect of a substantial Revolving Credit Loan Facility provided to Silicon Smelters (Proprietary) Limited.

  4. Acted for the Joint Lead Managers (Barclays Capital, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch and J.P. Morgan) in respect of the issue of the Eskom Holdings Limited U.S.$1,750,000,000 5.750% Notes due 2012 on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

  5. Acted for the Airports Company South Africa Limited and The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited in respect of the update of the Airports Company South Africa Limited R30 billion Domestic Medium Term Note Programme.

  6. Acted for the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality and Rand Merchant Bank, a division of Rand Merchant Bank Limited in respect of the issue of R702 million Senior Unsecured Fixed Rate Notes under the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality R13 billion Domestic Medium Term Note Programme.

  7. Acted for FirstRand Bank Limited in respect of the update of The FirstRand Bank Limited US$ 1,500,000,000 Euro Medium Term Note Programme.

  8. Acted for FirstRand Bank Limited as its South African counsel in connection with the issue by Turbo Finance plc of £340,135,000 Asset Backed Notes due 2019, which were listed on the Official List of the Irish Stock Exchange.

  9. Acted for Denel (Proprietary) Limited in respect of the issue of ZAR500,000,000 Senior Unsecured Zero Coupon Notes under its ZAR2,200,000,000 Domestic Medium Term Note Programme.

  10. Acted for Toyota Financial Services (South Africa) (Proprietary) Limited in respect of the issue of ZAR327,000,000 Senior Unsecured Zero Coupon Notes under its ZAR5,000,000,000 Domestic Medium Term Note Programme.

    Nthabiseng Ntsele is a Senior Associate in the Banking and Finance department at Bowman Gilfillan specialising in syndicated lending, cross-border financing, structured trade finance and corporate and commercial. 

    Nthabiseng holds a BA and LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand and was admitted as an attorney in 2004.

    Lerato Morwe is an Associate in the Corporate department at Bowman Gilfillan and prior to joining the firm, was a Candidate Attorney in the banking and finance department at Deneys Reitz Attorneys where she gained practical experience in the debt capital markets.

    Lerato holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree, both obtained at the University of the Witwatersrand.
